Das Oberhaupt der Georgischen Orthodoxen Kirche, Katholikos-Patriarch Ilia II., hatte Ende Juni vorgeschlagen, in Georgien die konstitutionelle Monarchie einzuführen, da diese Staatsform dem Land Ruhe bringen würde.
